Additional details Welcome to the website for the Wichita South High class of 1968. We will have information posted here regarding the reunion and related activities. You will also be able to make reservations and pay for those reservations using papal. So here we go and on with the show. The dates of the reunion are Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th.

The Reunion Committee has planned for a relaxing time Friday night: A cookout under the stars at Eberly Farm ,13111 W. 21st , starting at 4:30 pm and running until 11:00 pm. This will be a time to rekindle old friendships and make new ones. There will be hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, chips, and beverages of all kinds. Saturday night activities will be at The Hawthorn located at 21st and Ridge. We have a block of rooms reserved for graduates for $109.00 a night. Saturday night activities start around 7:00 and include dinner, dancing, beverages and music provided by a local DJ playing songs from the “olden days”.

We are also doing a booklet or “Dixie Dialer” again this year. You will have an opportunity to update your biography and supply us with a current picture to be posted next to your yearbook picture, sort of a “then and now”. Arrangements have been made for a photographer to be on site both nights taking candid shots of the events and a CD will be available for those who wish to purchase one. Our plan now is to include some of the pictures taken that night in the booklet and mail it out after the reunion. There will be picture name tags for those who register prior to June 1st. The cost for both nights is $50.00 per person.

For you golfers, Mike Lemmings is organizing a 9-hole round of golf on Saturday morning. The course is yet to be determined. Mike says he has room for about 40 golfers so get with him early. He can be reached via email at airdoc123 [at] att [dot] net, or 316-253-8202.

The committee thinks the next item is the “coupe de gras”. Mark Pendergrass has designed the bobble head doll of the “Fightin‘ Colonel” pictured on the website. This little “cutie” MUST be ordered in advance. There may be a few to be purchased at the reunion but don’t count on it. There are minimum buy requirements that must be met before an order will be placed. The manufacturer also requires a 70 day lead time so deadline for ordering is May 1st, no exceptions.

We are sending out cards to those class mates we could locate around February 12th.
